Voices of Lod
Noor recently completed a year of service with the Arab-Jewish Chicago Community Center (Lod Multicultural Center). A commitment to “helping out” is part of her personality, having grown up in Lod’s Ramat Eshkol neighbourhood as one of five children in a family whose roots in the city date back several generations.
She plans to study arts and design in university and says she especially enjoys painting, as she points to a mural spanning across the office building immediately across the street from the community center. Noor hopes that improvements in her neighbourhood will make it a place where all of its residents want to live.
